7 Most Famous Winter Destinations in the World
7 Most Famous Winter Destinations in the World
Though winter is now upon us, we are still in the season of skiing and sloping a hill as if we can’t stop ourselves — which is only fair for us who have been burned out by summer. As well as staying in our ski lounges and not outside in the sun, we are guilty of watching reruns of the classics like Glengarry Glen Ross, Friends, Matilda, and 30 Rock in our pajamas on our couch, and looking for our favorite winter destinations. Before that, we’re going to bask in all the winter on our shores with these 7 of the best places to get your wintery bliss!
Krushevsk in Russia
Ski town, Arctic vacation destination, snowsports destination, winter night town, winter snorkeling village, it seems like the Winterglobe has it all, for those who love the Alps and both ends of the country equally. Ski town-Russia also boasts some of the best food in Russia, and not just for the dishes you make yourself with traditional recipes. Local restaurants have restaurants that provide you with a display of traditional Russian cuisine, complete with an assortment of special dishes to set you up for success. You can also enjoy a taxi ride to the slopes, and maybe even take part in a local village fair. You can only find it in Russia, but trust me, Winterglobe gives you everything you need to keep going through the season.
Eilat-Tel Aviv
Another winter dreamland, but this city of Tel Aviv has it all, from its gorgeous beachfront to its modern spa, restaurants, and stylish restaurant you can come for a meal on the island of Tel Aviv, but you will also meet some of the best men in the world at its pubs and dating apps. With the international airline company El Al, you’ll be able to get somewhere good, anywhere easy, and just be there by nightfall. And don’t think that the ski lifts are anything but worth your time, as the many couples that practice snowboarding will tell you that going to the lift in their ski gear is enough to be drunk and in the wintertime.
Naaara Iceland
Fun for all the family! This year I made a day trip to the tourist favorite fishing village of Naaara, which you can do to see and take pictures with Orcas at sunset, ski slopes at any time of day, and anything you need to do. You can even do all this and fill it up at your nearby cosy beach bars by eating healthy, nutritious meals. Also, you’ll find some cute little treats such as non-dairy yogurt, organic smoothies, and sandwiches. You can get even more out of your visit to this unique place by bringing a mini replica of Naaara and a few friends and a dog, which you will share in the sleds they will gladly sell you. There is just no better way to enjoy the scenery of Iceland at night, especially with the headlights from the sleds and the sound of snow falling!
Svalbard Nordlands
A quirky town in the far north of Norway, Svalbard Nordlands is known for having its own spectacular climate. As well as natural snow, visitors will find an abundance of ice sculptures, complete with terrariums that have eyes and hands and throats, and Norway’s own version of a zoo-one that is a true petting zoo, welcoming all ages to see the animals up close. Of course, there is also plenty of outdoor activity to do, such as hiking in the snow. Either way, this is a great place to relax when the weather is colder!
Svalbard-Frunnice
Head for the mountains, as this ski town is located on the Franschhoek mountain range, in the Nordlander archipelago, just northwest of the Swedish border. On top of enjoying some of the best winter dining, to go with the cross-country skiing, and some of the best beer in Europe, visitors can also go sightseeing, shopping, or stay and sleep in one of the 300 shabbiest hotels in the city, which the forecaster says the nights are so cold they will feel like summer’s, we love to celebrate winters in Nordic style!
Vilnius, Latvia
The sun is shining through the ice crystals at this French-inspired village in Latvia, which by day is the little one riding his unicycle, but at night is a spectacular full moon coming up! Travelers will enjoy wandering through boutiques with different types of souvenirs, restaurants with kitschy themes, and general tourist traps, all in no hurry to leave this friendly tourist market. And since it’s still winter, be sure to don a pair of heavy coats, because if you go shopping in the warmer months, chances are you’ll have to walk around
